Brian M. Keltner (Nov 1970 - Present) was born at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After the tragic death of his father, he knew something of an itinerant existence growing up, calling home various locales ranging from the Malibu Hills of California to Paradise Valley, Montana where the Yellowstone River flows. At 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years, including deployment to Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993--a region devastated by anarchy, bloodshed, famine, starvation, and insurgency--at the height of that country's civil war. Following this expedition and honorable discharge from military service, he relocated to Boulder, Colorado where he acquired his B.A. in English/Creative Writing before moving west to Los Angeles, teaching junior high and high school students there for five years. Ultimately he returned to the region of his birth. His M.A. in Counseling Psychology is from the University of Denver, and he is a Colorado State Licensed (LPC) as well as Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) in private practice. Since 2007, he has helped people from varied backgrounds, including veterans, improve the quality of their lives through the cultivation of mental health. This is his first book.
