Brigid Marlin was born in Washington, DC but has spent most of her life in England, where she resides. She has authored three books, most recently, The Box House, the inspiring and heartbreaking story of an abused and neglected child she befriended more than fifty years ago. In her previous book, A Meaning for Danny, released in 2012, Brigid shares the story of her son's struggle with Asperger Syndrome, and her own experiences as a mother, artist and wife. Her most recent work is a book for children, Princess Josephine and the Rainbow Dragon, which Brigid illustrated. The book was written by Kate Bodsworth and published in November 2015.
Although a successful author, Brigid is known primarily as an artist. Her paintings are in museums and collections throughout the world, including the National Portrait Gallery, London. She is also the Founder and Director of the Society for Art and Imagination.
Brigid is the daughter of the late Hilda van Stockum, the internationally celebrated children's book author and illustrator.
