Cathryn McIntyre has authored two memoirs about her experiences as a writer and natural psychic living in the historic town of Concord, Massachusetts. In the first, Honor in Concord: Seeking Spirit in Literary Concord (2008), she set out to record the images of the past that were always on her mind and the result was a fictional story told within the pages of memoir, in which the writers of Concord’s literary past, i.e. Hawthorne, Alcott, Emerson and Thoreau are living new lives in Concord in present day. In her latest memoir, The Thoreau Whisperer: Channeling the Spirit of Henry David Thoreau (2018), she finds that, after encountering her mentor, an eminent Thoreau scholar, eleven days after his death, she must hone her psychic abilities, set her doubts aside and accept the role she was destined to play in a remarkable collaboration that allows Thoreau’s words to be heard once again in our time.
Cathryn McIntyre is the founder of The Concord Writer (www.theconcordwriter.com), a literary and publishing concern dedicated to the words, wisdom and enduring spirit of Henry David Thoreau. She is currently at work on a fictional story that is set in the seaside town of Marblehead, Massachusetts.
