Christopher DeWan is an award-winning creator of screenplays, stageplays, short fiction, and new media.
He has had TV projects with the Chernin Group and Indomitable Entertainment and has collaborated on transmedia properties for Bad Robot, Paramount, Universal, and the Walt Disney Company. His screenwriting has been recognized by CineStory, Final Draft, the PAGE Awards, and Slamdance, and he is recipient of a fellowship from the International Screenwriters' Association (ISA). He is repped by Ensemble Entertainment.
He has published more than forty short stories in journals including A cappella Zoo, Bartleby Snopes, Necessary Fiction, Passages North, and wigleaf, and has been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize. His collection of domestic fabulism, Hoopty Time Machines, is forthcoming from Atticus Books in September 2016.
Christopher holds an MFA in creative writing from the California Institute of the Arts and a degree in philosophy and theater from Cornell University. He has been a consultant for the literary magazine Electric Literature, a contributor at the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, a guest artist at the Music Center of Los Angeles, and a member of the faculty at The Eckleburg Workshops, Writing Workshops LA, and the California State Summer School for the Arts, where he currently acts as chair of creative writing.
