Cora Davis, a retired high school English teacher of 30 years, has worked with charities and mentored high school youth. As a teacher, she was fascinated with the incessant energy of youth, with their resilience and with those who had hopes for a future that would take them beyond ordinary circumstances.Like many other adults who have had years of daily contact with culturally diverse children and youth, she is aware of untapped reservoirs of talents, challenges and inspiring possibilities among both advantaged and disadvantaged children and youth.Memories of activities and interactions with youth have resulted in verses found in this short volume. Simple, honest communication about the past and the present, she believes, is a powerful tool to get to know and assist the people who will be replacing today's leaders. Brief, uncomplicated activities in reading, discussing, listening and learning could result in improvements on a large scale.
