Daniel Mark Harrison is an Asia-based entrepreneur, thinker, technology evangelist and writer.
In 2015, Harrison pre-published the debut literary sensation The Millennial Reincarnations, part one in a fictional trilogy that explores the effects of technology and networked culture on millennial attitudes to life, sex and work, as well as aptitudes for enhanced emotional intelligence, including a more robust conceptual understanding of spiritual belief and practice, a higher dependency emotionally on financial affairs, as well as the the somewhat awkward way that social interactions flitter between the garrulously extrovert to the shy, inward introvert.
Dubbed by a number of well-respected and heavyweight authors, as well as by foreign media in particular as the first of the great millennial works of literature, the book received enormous praise from the mainstream press and readers alike.
Within days of coming out, the book went to Number One on the Amazon bestseller list and was picked up by overseas publishers for overseas rights sales. It also got noticed by literary agent Stacey Donaugh who was taken with the book’s vivid and compelling opening and who after finishing the entire manuscript in one night promptly agreed to represent Harrison on the sale of the complete Millennial Trilogy series.
Jeffrey Robinson, the popular author of New York Times bestselling books such as The Laundrymen, Criminal Intent and There’s A Sucker Born Every Minute, describes Harrison as “one to watch” and “required reading.”
Meanwhile, The Midwest Book Review’s Diane Donovan described Reincarnations as “a sparkling revolution of words” that “deserved to get noticed.” Donovan pointed out that the book’s “high-octane, compelling language … creates the path to help this generation perceive and understand … new opportunities; [Harrison’s] approach … captures the connections between individual lives and greater purpose through a series of fictional vignettes; and his compelling vision of a reincarnated generation raised on new technology with the possibilities for new responses and vision unprecedented in human history … makes this such a stand-out discussion.”
Writing in The Huffington Post, leading millennial culture critic and former start-up CEO Azeem Khan called Harrison’s writing “reality TV for the novel”, comparing Harrison’s writing style to “Stephen King-meets-Philip Roth”:
I applaud the effort Harrison is making to try and make literature a place that is ultimately more connected and innovative as a place where ideas can be exchanged and discussed in a way that no else has done before. In that respect at least, this was easily the best book I have read this year
wrote Khan of the original and dazzling new author.
In the prestigious right-wing Italian daily Il Foglio, New York-based writer Mattia Ferraresi wrote:
Harrison carries out an investigation here into the possibility that there exists for this new Millennial generation a metaphysical dimension whereby the Cartesian existential paradox is ultimately overcome, with thinking as the more synthetic of senses and feeling being something of an essentially human quality.

The story of Harrison’s early days is narrated in the first chapter of How I Caused The Credit Crunch, a bestselling account of the financial world during the 2000s that has been described as “a vivid and personal account of 21st century banking excess”, written by a classmate of Harrison’s at Oxford who later went on to work for Goldman Sachs. Harrison holds an MBA from BI in Oslo, Norway.
