David Coyle is a writer from Wellington, New Zealand. In 2009, he was nominated for Best Screenplay for a Short Film at the New Zealand Film and Television Awards for Poppy. Since then, he's focused on writing books, finishing his first novel in 2014 (Psych World). Although it went unpublished, it was a finalist in the Michael Gifkins Prize for an Unpublished Novel 2020. With Unsolicited Press, David published a paperback long-form narrative poem in 2019 (The Bloom) and an eBook novella in 2021 (Joker). He’s published four short stories, and has been nominated for the 2023 Pushcart Prize. He holds a Diploma in Screenwriting and BA in English Literature from the Victoria University of Wellington.
