David Martin Anderson is an American author. He is known primarily for his historical fiction novels and, particulalrly, the 'Billy Bartell' series of books that portray the demise of the American mustang herds during the 1930s and 1940s. Anderson has been named a finalists, twice, for the distinguished Faulker-Wisdom literary award (2011 & 2019). He is an activist who supports horse rescue causes and lives on his Texas Hill Country ranch with his wife, Mary (m. 1971).
