His Kirkus-recommended second novel, Tyler’s Last, came out in 2015, and his first, The Cannibal of Guadalajara (2010), won the Gival Novel Prize and was nominated for a National Book Award. A coeditor of the New York Times-recommended Writing the Virus, an anthology of writings about Covid and these times, he is the fiction editor of The American, a senior editor at Statorec.com, and a frequent contributor to The Brooklyn Rail.
