Dean Zeviar formerly known as Earnest Navar Williams is a poet and freelance publisher. He is part of the Michigan Writers group, and his book received a star rating from Pacific Book Review. Physical, mental and emotional suffering became the journal that led to," A Poet's Diary 1."
It is a collection of emotionally driven poems out of the author's reflections and realizations from his immersion in a veteran homeless shelter. Navar Williams lived with veterans in a homeless shelter for some time. The experience gave him a lot of perspectives, which resulted in a change in his overall worldview. It inspired him to write poetry that exposes, the social realities of our time. In our time, we feel the struggles of life; we seek a connection with our higher power; we define our faith; we confront threats, and we find hope.
A Poet’s Diary 1 opens up the eyes of readers to poems like “The Vagabond Was Smoking,” “People Wonder Why My Eyes Are Red,” " Facing Slavery," paint vivid pictures of pain and suffering. In spite of all of that, Navar holds on to hope for humanity and shares his hope in pieces that value human resilience and grit, such as in “It Does Not Stop Me from Being Happy” and “The Chosen Ones.”
