Dereck C. Sale was born in 1941 and grew up in Jamaica. Dereck C. Sale was born in 1941 and grew up in Jamaica. As a youth, he spent nine years in the Jesuit academies of Campion and St. Georges College, before he moved to England to pursue his professional studies. He became the youngest partner in an international firm of Chartered Accountants (CPAs) on his return to the island, where he and his Swedish wife remained for twelve years, and where their four children were born. Today the extended family live in Canada. Over the decades, Sale’s writings on professional, economic, and political issues have been published in newspapers and financial journals in several countries. His first book, Testament of the Third Man - Rants from the Sidelines of Faith, appeared in 2007; his second, Exiles at Home - Jamaican Chronicles, in 2014; and his third, By The Way...Essays and Atavisms, was published in 2017.
