When I was born, the doctors told my parents, Bill and Virginia McTaggart, to put me away in an institution. They told my parents that their daughter was too much for them to handle. I was born with polio, my legs bent like a frog's, and I was born paralyzed from head to toe. The doctors never imagined that I would grow up to earn a Master's degree and become a therapist myself, as well as a wife, a mother, a teacher, a performer, and a recording artist.
