In 2007, Dorothy K. Fletcher retired after 35 years of teaching high school English in Jacksonville, Florida. At that time, she began her writing career in earnest. Along with writing a monthly column for the Florida Times-Union called By the Wayside, the basis for her series of six Jacksonville histories, Dorothy's poetry, non-fiction articles, and novels were being acepted for publication throughout the United States. HOJO Girl was the first of her novels published. Dorothy and her husband Hardy live in Jacksonville near their children and grandchildren; and when they can, they travel.
