At age 34, in September of 1987, Rev. Douglas Simon Sweet entered St. John’s Seminary College, Boston, MA, to earn a Bachelor of Philosophy degree. By June 1994, he received a Bachelor of Sacred Theology and a Master of Divinity at St. Mary’s Seminary & University, Baltimore, MD. In June 1995, he was ordained a Catholic priest at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, Providence, RI.
After ten years, the intensity of his call diminished. However, the setback opened yet another doorway into his calling. By June 2016, he received a vision, and the inspiration paved the way for writing The Heart’s Plea for Change.
Learning of God’s desire to reconcile the fears standing between God and God’s people weighed heavily on Rev. Sweet. As though he were carrying the weight of God’s sorrow, he had to know where and how the erosion of humanity’s relationship with God began. The quest led him to unveil lifegiving revelations of the Father and the Son buried in a dark history.
Over 2500 years ago, God’s heart was revealed to the prophet Jeremiah when saying to him, “I will be your God, and you will be my people.” How many have forgotten or even believed in God’s desire? Rev. Sweet avows, “I never thought such words from God would sound again in today’s world, and certainly not through me.”
