Dr. Jeffrey Sterling is a leader in community-based medicine, health care, organizational operations and efficiency. He serves as President and CEO of Sterling Initiatives, an international healthcare consulting and implementation firm providing entities with clinical, operational and financial best practices that has provided services in forty states and countries around the world. He also serves as President & CEO of Sterling Medical Advice, an international public health initiative and telemedicine call center providing personal and immediate healthcare information and advice to consumers and clients. Dr. Sterling also is President of 72 Hours Life, a lifestyle community that promotes and teaches greater efficiency as a means of improving quality of life. Dr. Sterling founded the Minority Association of Pre-health Students, an American organization of premedical and other health career aspirants with chapters in over 300 colleges. Dr. Sterling is Immediate Past President of the Northwestern University Black Alumni Association (NUBAA), the university’s first and largest national alumni club. In this capacity, he co-founded the NUBAA Archives, the first effort to collect and document the over 140-year history of Blacks at Northwestern.
Dr. Sterling has degrees from Northwestern, The Harvard School of Public Health (Health Policy & Management), and the University of Illinois College Of Medicine. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Chicago’s Cook County Hospital. He has received executive education from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business. Dr. Sterling is author of the popular healthcare blog, ‘Straight, No Chaser’ at www.jeffreysterlingmd.com, the book Behind the Curtain – A Peek at Life from within the ER, the efficiency manual 72 Hours in a Day – Using Efficiency to Better Enjoy Every Part of Your Life, and its companion workbook: The 72 Hours in a a Day Workbook – 72 Days to the 72 Hours Life. His new book is Voices and Vision: The Evolution of the Black Experience at Northwestern University. Dr. Sterling is also the Executive Producer of the documentary The Takeover – The Revolution of the Black Experience at Northwestern University. Dr. Sterling is a speaker in high demand, having delivered over one thousand lectures internationally since 2000.
