Dr. LaSonja Flowers-Ivory is a passionate educator. Her teaching career began with her homeschooling her sons through Kindergarten and Second grade. Later, she taught grades 3 & 6, earned a single subject English credential and taught grades 9-12. Dr. Ivory began her career as a high school administrator in 2006. Her expertise includes more than 20 years of curriculum development, grant writing, discipline and Title IV investigations. In addition, she has served on policy review and evaluation teams for school districts and local government. Dr. Ivory academic accomplishments include earning an Associates of Arts and Science (Mountain View College, Dallas, Texas), Bachelors in Child Development (California State University, Northridge), a Masters in Educational Leadership (California State University, Channel Islands) and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (California State University, Northridge). Her dissertation focused on the Perceptions of African American Males as it relates to school belonging and how that sense of school belonging influenced their academic engagement. Despite her educational accomplishments and commitment to be a life-long learner; she recently completed a Superintendent certification program through a local university. Dr. Ivory is an author, publisher, motivational speaker and educational consultant. She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ivory Educational Consulting which offers a variety of services to schools, businesses and churches.
