Dwight Okita lives in Chicago with an imaginary cat and a great circle of friends and colleagues. He also designs websites, is a professional therapeutic cuddler, and is a passionate moviegoer. Okita's first novel THE PROSPECT OF MY ARRIVAL was a finalist in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Awards. The book focuses on a human embryo that is allowed to preview the world before deciding whether to be born. Some describe his novels as "magic-realist fables" or "sci-fi for people who don't like sci-fi." Okita's work has been recognized in the Norton Introduction to Poetry, the HBO New Writers Showcase, and by the Illinois Arts Council. Book-to-film projects are represented by Affirmative Entertainment. He is currently working on a novel called EVERY TIME WE SAY GOODBYE which deals with love, reincarnation, and the gun violence epidemic. www.DwightOkita.com
