E. Bruce Bushong grew up in Oklahoma and after practicing law in Dallas, Texas he returned home to teach English at his alma mater high school. His current release, Critical Mass - A Spiritual Adventure to Save the Planet, was conceived 34 years ago while he was in law school. He finally started writing it in 2003 and it took over a decade to complete the epic.
Bruce lives with his wife and dogs in Shawnee, OK. He teaches AP Language and Creative Writing. He is also the Mock Trial coach and sponsors the Writer's Block, a creative writing club. Bruce has four sons. Two have successful careers in the Boston area. However, the two youngest sons were killed in a car accident in Dallas in 2004. It is that tragedy that pushed Bruce back to his home town and into teaching.
Bruce has said, "I love my job. I just wish I had come to it in a different way." In the move back home Bruce also reconnected with an old high school flame and they were married in October of 2005.
Mr. Bushong has two books out. In his first book, Fatherman Down, Brad survives his own car accident only to be paralyzed. He finally realizes that he has a gift for writing and he writes a best seller called Critical Mass.
In his second book, Critical Mass, all of the places that the characters go are real. Each of the five main characters is from a different country and they practice different religions. They also practice different martial arts. The idea of the book is inspired by spiritual practices that are all inclusive and by a deep desire to have all of us live together in peace.
