Since I was a kid, I always liked doing creative things. Whether it wasdrawing, painting, or writing, I always had to express whatever I had on my mind. When I went to college in 2000, I originally wanted to majorin Art but I got an English degree instead. I worked as a technicalwriter, a teacher, and did insurance for a while. However, I never lostmy sense of imagination or creativity. When I had my daughter in 2015, I started to go to the library a lot more and started to read to her atan early age. As I read to her, my mind started to bubble with ideas onbooks that could write and illustrate for her. And so the idea for Mom, a Box, and Me came about. I based it on our playtime together and when my own mom introduced me to a box. Now, I am starting a series of books based on a pink dolphin named Gemma. The first book is called "I'm Pink! So What?"

When I'm not writing or illustrating, I live in Florida and love spending time with my family.
