I have been working with words in one fashion or another for over twenty-five years, including obtaining a law degree from Mercer University School of Law, home of the world-renowned Legal Writing Institute, and am a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, the largest and oldest national professional organization of editorial freelancers. My book reviews have appeared in magazines, newspapers, been quoted on authors’ websites, excerpted in publishers’ promotional materials, and used as blurbs for novels.
Authors I’ve worked with have been published by Mulholland Books (Little, Brown and Company), Thomas Dunne Books (St. Martin’s Press), Down & Out Books, Wednesday Books (St. Martin’s Press), The Story Plant, ABC Group Documentation, Roundfire Books, Shotgun Honey/One Eye Press, 280 Steps, Double Dragon Publishing, Black Mill Books, Open Books, and World Castle Publishing, among others, and have won and/or been nominated for the Anthony Award (Bouchercon World Mystery Convention), Shamus Award (Private Eye Writers of America), Dagger Award (Crime Writers’ Association of the United Kingdom), Lefty Award (Left Coast Crime), National Indie Excellence Award, American Fiction Award, Beverly Hills Book Award, Golden Fedora Prize, and Royal Palm Literary Award (Florida Writers Association).
I work almost exclusively with fiction manuscripts, and my goal as an editor is to bring my combined skill with words and love of reading to the table in such a way that helps you fully realize the story you are trying to tell.
