Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I have a B.S. in Psychology and foster that knowledge writing dark and speculative fiction. I have been published in over 60 print and online publications, including: Space Squid, Fantasy Scroll Magazine, Dark Eclipse, Niteblade Horror and Fantasy Magazine, Eschatology Journal, Every Day Fiction, The Lorelei Signal, All Due Respect, Shotgun Honey, Bards & Sages Quarterly, Liquid Imagination, Fiction 365, Luna Station Quarterly, and many more.
In 2011, my short story, "The Wall of Never Doubt," won 10th Place in the Genre Short Story Category of the Writer's Digest 80th Annual Writing Competition, and in 2009, my adult non-fiction piece, "My Compass," won honorable mention in the 2009 Kay Snow Writing Contest, and "Unspoken Bonds" was shortlisted in the Tom Howard / John H. Reid 2009 Fiction and Essay Competition.
I am the author of the mystery novel, Grave Echoes: A Kate Waters Mystery (Book 1) and Wicked Tempest (Book 2), the short horror collections, Of the Night and After Dusk, a long fiction, The Shadow People, the novella, Feral Things, by Damnation Books, and a speculative fiction collection, Between Feathers and Fins.
When I'm not reading or writing, you can find me in the kitchen cooking 'real' food, hiking Oregon's magnificent terrain with my husband and three young children, or spoiling my beloved Collie-Irish Setter mix, Cosmo.
