ESAD JAGANJAC grew up and was educated in Sarajevo, where he graduated from Sarajevo University in 1976. As a graduate engineer, he worked in numerous companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom. During his studies, he was a member of the academic Cultural and Artistic Society, "Ivo Lola Ribar." During the aggression against the Republic of BiH, he was a member of the Territorial Defense RBIH and then of the UN agency WHO. As a member of the Association of Independent Intellectuals "Krug 99," he published numerous articles on topics from political and cultural life. His first novel, Emir Mateo, was inspired by real events in which he describes the suffering and senselessness of the war in which he found himself with his family.
