When you browse my books, you'll find different genres available. I have always been an eclectic reader, and it's only logical that I'm an eclectic writer as well. It keeps things fun and interesting!

I dwell in the Great Smoky Mountains of East TN, with my husband of twenty years, and our two sons. I have two stepsons and a granddaughter who live in Mississippi, and we do not see them enough. I've been trying to convince them for years to move to God's country where they belong. We also have two dogs, several chickens, and some uninvited, pesky pigeons who often interrupt my muse with their constant coos and wing fluttering outside my office window. We won't talk about the mess they drop onto our front deck.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy reading, hiking, cooking, singing, and playing guitar and piano, being involved in church activities, and traveling. There's more, but I'll move on.

I am a home educator, but I'm convinced I learn much more than my children do.

I graduated with a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland online, and a M.A. in English from National University online. While it certainly isn't a necessity to attend college for writing novels, I am personally thankful for my experiences in education and how they have contributed to my writing.

People ask me where I get my ideas. Well, at the risk of sounding cliche, I must say I get them from God. It's as simple as that. He gives me an idea, and I just go with it. In fact, when I question and doubt a story line, I'm pretty sure I can hear him say, "Fayla, just go with it." In other words, this writing business takes a lot of faith and hard work, but when it's God's idea, it's best to just go with it.
