A retired humor essayist on Public Radio and author of Last Stop, Ronkonkoma (release date 8/2019, Glimmerglass Publishing Co.) Fred J Schneider makes his home in New York with his wife Robin where, when he's not writing fiction is often texting her marital advice. Raised on Long Island, Schneider's distorted perspective remains influenced by his family's exodus from Brooklyn the day the Dodgers broke its heart. During the horrific age of Disco, when the whole nation seemed stupified by that mirrored ball, Schneider raged against the machine, quixotically paying homage to the, alas, all too mortal Abbie Hoffman and Jerry Rubin. It was useless. It was expensive. It disappointed his parents, yet even today, embers burn.
