Born in Muswell Hill, North London, the son of a fireman, I spent my childhood making up stories to the delight of my siblings and friends. With my wife and two young daughters, I decided to try Australia for a couple of years and ended up staying for thirty-five. We settled in a small picturesque town on the edge of Lake Macquarie just north of Sydney, where we increased our family and I ran a successful business in the building industry, allowing me to retire comfortably so that I could finally indulge in my passion for writing mystery and suspense. Not being a golfer or wanting to bob around on the lake in a boat with a fishing rod, we decided to make a sea change and move from the quiet provincial town to the eccentricities of Sydney with its abundance of theatres and music venues and where my characters are based.
