Her artistic life has been a faith-walk marked by quiet caregiving. It began with motherhood in the 1960’s; when her marriage fell apart, she raised her three children (with family help) as a single mom. Next she cared for an aging mom with Parkinsonism. After a thirty-year separation, she remarried her children’s father; when he became chronically ill, she became a willing caregiver once again.
Believing in other artists and writers, Ginny started (and closed) two publishing companies. Although a commercial failure, she helped launch several authors toward fulfilling their own visions. Since retirement, Ginny has written and self-published five books of her own. In 2019, her book, Giving, won the Illumination Gold Medal for Christian poetry.
Ginny has taught in churches, local Bible studies, Special Education classes, at a Bible College, a Junior College and at the University of Illinois. She holds a BA from Beloit College, an MAT from Chicago Teacher’s College (National Louis University) and an AM from the University of Illinois.
