Gregg Andrews (Doctor G), Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History at Texas State University, is a former National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow, former Andrew Mellon Fellow, and prize-winning author of five books. From the cement company town of Ilasco on the Mississippi River near Mark Twain's boyhood home of Hannibal, Missouri, he is also a singer-songwriter/recording artist who fronts the south central Texas band, Doctor G and the Mudcats.
