After finishing high school in Farmington, MN, a suburb of the Twin Cities, the author headed west to college at Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA. The rigorous, but humanistic, ideals of Jesuit instruction received there have since remained firmly in place through each endeavor, every pursuit.
Work in book publication and distribution eventually brought him to San Diego, CA . More than twenty years a resident, Mr. Field considers it a stroke of great luck to live in the midst of "America's Finest Weather."
The writer of three books, DOWN BY TWO, KICKIN' IT, and THE TONGUES OF DYING MEN, in the last twelve years, it's always been his goal, when facing a blank page, to "leave out the parts that readers want to skip," as his hero, Elmore Leonard, put it.
The author intends to keep writing until he gets really good at it, or kicks, whichever comes first. Readers are invited to measure the progress.
