Hazel Pacheco writes fictional children’s stories about the gregarious quails residing along the Rio Grande bosque. Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, she has a fondness and appreciation for the culture and natural beauty of the southwest.

Before she started writing children’s books, Hazel put herself through college while working full-time. She graduated with a bachelor’s then a master’s degree in business administration. Always one to set goals, after retiring with twenty-seven years of federal service, Hazel Pacheco set her sights on a new passion—to write stories that leave the reader smiling.
