For the last seventeen years, I’ve been teaching at a public middle school — briefly in Fairfax, VA and mostly in Lexington, MA. I started teaching Social Studies, but now I teach teachers and students how to use technology to learn. I have always enjoyed writing as a way for me to open the release valve in my brain. I worked as a communications associate writing press releases and web copy for a non-profit immediately after college. Once I became a father I started writing memoir and self-published a book about my first year as a father called “Toots, Not Poops.” I also wrote the occasional, guest blog post on www.kveller.com. Now I’ve moved away from the personal narratives to spend more time on fiction writing where I focus on MG and YA writing.
