Ido Kedar, 22, painstakingly learned how to communicate expressively at the age of seven, first on a letter board and then on a tablet, enabling him to transition from a remedial autism education to high honor roll. Kedar completed his highly acclaimed memoir, Ido in Autismland: Climbing Out of Autism's Silent Prison, when he was just sixteen-years-old. It is assigned reading in university classes and has been translated into Japanese, with three more translations in progress. His second book, a novel, is one of the only published works of fiction by an author with nonspeaking autism. As such, In Two Worlds offers readers an unprecedented look inside the condition, its impact on the families touched by it and the theories that dominate their lives. Kedar is a blogger and an advocate awarded for his efforts to improve the lives of people with autism. He has been profiled by the Los Angeles Times, CBC Radio, NBC News and other media. He lives in California.
