Ioanna is an award winning poet whose work has appeared in Agni, Alaska Quarterly, Beloit Poetry Journal, Chelsea, Field, Glimmer Train, The Hudson Review, Nimrod, Poetry, Prairie Schooner, The Quarterly, Quarterly West, and many other literary magazines.
She has been featured poet in Poetry magazine, and appeared on Poetry Daily twice. She won the Glimmer Train Poetry Open. She was chosen to be part of Poetry 180, Billy Collins’ poetry for the high schools program, and she also received the Anna Davidson Rosenberg Award for poetry.
Her work appears in Mother Knows, an anthology of stories published through Atria, a branch of Simon & Schuster. Her poems appear in an anthology of Greek-American poetry called Pomegranate Seeds. She has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize by Cerise Press. She just won second place for The Whisperer in the statewide Women's Press Contest.
