Izaic Shakeir Yorks

Although he was born in Detroit, Michigan the Army brought his family to Tacoma, Washington in his younger years and he has considered the Pacific Northwest home ever since. His story in the sport of running has a different beginning than most of his colleagues as he didn’t participate in athletics until high school, often choosing theater and musical interests over sports. It was not until he watched the 2008 Olympics with his physically disabled sister that he decided to pursue track —eventually leading to his current career as a professional athlete.

Izaic’s passions however do not stop at the track but also extend into that of stories and writing. Izaic always knew he wanted to write novels but it was recently that he decided to dive in headfirst, after all every journey begins with a single step. He has spent years training and competing; and when he is not training he is dedicating countless hours to his passion of storytelling through writing fantastical stories, enjoying time with his family, and playing the occasional Dungeons and Dragons game.

Izaic likes to think of himself as a natural-born storyteller having loved sharing stories from a young age He thrives when he is able to express his creativity through writing or spoken narrative bringing his audience to new worlds. Izaic believes in writing stories that uplift and leave the readers filled with hope and hanging on for the next page. He dedicates intentional time to perfecting the art of storytelling through regularly writing new stories, acting out new characters, and sharing his unique ideas with his wife who is sure to help him nix the bad ones.
