Growing up on a farm and spending summers working in an oil refinery provided a perspective on the value of hard work and sparked a keen determination to use one's brain instead of one's brawn to make a living. Degrees from TCU and UT-Austin and real-world experiences on a newspaper or two followed. As a teacher, writer, editor and administrator during a 27-year career at Seguin High School, TCU and Austin College, the author enjoyed many professional accolades and accomplishments. But those achievements are dwarfed by a mostly blissful 54-year marriage to his college sweetheart, Charlotte Smith Fuller. The Fullers have a son, Joseph Edward Fuller, who is married to Sarah Baldwin.
The author has taught adult Bible classes for 42 years and has been a gardener for more years than that. He published another book of encouragement for Christians, "Under Siege: Moving Outside the Walls to Victory," which is still taking up space in the used book bins of the internet.
