Originally from Canada, Jackie spent most of her career as an elementary school teacher. While writing was always a passion and an ambition, she credits the Master's Program in Children's Literature at Hollins University - and especially her inspiring teacher, the writer Alexandria Lafaye - with teaching her the craft.
