Jan Karol Tanaka is both an English and art teacher, endeavoring to spark imagination and creativity in her students. Often identifying more with her students than her peers, she says she's never really grown up and her writing is just a form of play in an acceptable grownup fashion. She now lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and daughter, two horses, and five shamefully spoiled cats.
