The author, Jerry Goldberg, is from Philadelphia, PA. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University and a Master of Science degree from Temple University.

Mr. Goldberg has worked for the David Sarnoff Research Center of RCA in Princeton, NJ and for Univac Corporation in Blue Bell, PA.

Mr. Goldberg founded a company to manufacturer holograms which are photographs that generate three dimensional images. A technique to emboss holograms onto plastic was developed in the laboratories of the company. Using this new technique, small, embossed image plane holograms were affixed onto credit cards. This unusual application of holograms requires very advanced knowledge to employ, and so provides great security for the holder. The embossed holographic credit cards are now used on credit cards, worldwide. 

Mr. Goldberg also was involved in technical sales as a manufacturers representative for various manufacturers of vibration analysis equipment.
