Three years after he decided to devote his life to writing, Jim Matthews met his high school sweetheart.  She was sixteen and he was eighteen.  Fifty years later they are married, living in the house in Sebastopol, California where their three sons grew up.  Jim is a court reporter.  They no longer have the cat and the dog, who are missed.  The kids visit.  Jim is still writing.
