Jim Ringel is the author of the Lama Rinzen Mysteries, a series of detective stories telling of sleuth Lama Rinzen’s pursuit of killers and the true lessons of Buddhism.
Like many Western practitioners, Jim came to Buddhism through meditation. He finds wonder in meditation’s unique ability to help us see the world in a preternatural way, and with an open heart. He uses meditation as part of his writing routine, to both clear his mind and open to new insights.
Jim writes the Writing Like a Buddha blog, offering meditations and exercises to help writers see and experience the world in different ways. In 2014, Jim published his “sales-werewolf” novel Wolf.
He lives with his Tibetan Terrier, Rascal, in rural Boulder County, Colorado.
