Joanna FitzPatrick is the author of KATHERINE MANSFIELD, an historical novel of the famous author’s life in England (1888-1923). Her memoir, SHA LA LA, LIVE FOR TODAY, is about growing up in Hollywood, marrying and divorcing a rock star, and becoming a single mother in need of a paycheck. THE DRUMMER’S WIDOW, a contemporary fiction, is her second novel. When not writing, she edits romance novels for Random House.
Her first foray into writing came about when she worked on Hollywood screenplays and learned to see through the camera’s eye. The result was the film production of WHITE LILACS AND PINK CHAMPAGNE. FitzPatrick then entered the music industry where she had a vibrant career working with entertainers like Bette Midler and The Manhattan Transfer. Later she left Hollywood for Manhattan to continue her career as an artist manager and then as managing director of Gramavision Records.
After a successful music career, FitzPatrick returned to her first passion, writing. She graduated from SUNY Purchase and then earned an MFA in creative writing at Sarah Larwence College.

How that experience gave her the courage to move from Manhattan to the rural mountains above Carmel Valley, California where she is now writing a sequel to THE DRUMMER’S WIDOW.
