You don’t have to be famous to have lived dramatically. And, being famous doesn’t mean you’re interesting. I’m not famous, but there’s been a lot of drama, and I think I might be interesting.
I wrote and published three novels. That’s interesting. Screenshot got to #6 on the Amazon Thriller best-seller list. The Rockets’ Red Glare was named one of the 14 best Indie novels of 2015. The Law of the Pack won a Best First Novel prize before getting tied up in contract disputes and has never gone to print. It will.
I lived a good life. I had 40 good years with my wife before she died. I retreated to an 18-month RV tour of America. I saw a lot of incredible places, met a lot of wonderful people, and survived when I could have easily shut myself in my home and become the Unabomber. And I had considered doing just that.
I worked in the nuclear industry, mostly in radiation safety, and most recently in radiological emergency preparedness. That gets people attention when they ask “what do you do?” It sounds a lot cooler than it is.
I have a son who is simply a very good human being. Can’t ask for more than that.
I met my second life-partner and she, too, is a wonderful person. Twice in a lifetime. Few get that chance.
And best of all, there’s more to come.
