John F. Shekleton, a former Jesuit, writes fiction set in a contemporary gay and Catholic setting. His second novel, Father Tierney Stumbles, won the 2012 Indie Reader Discovery Award for GLBT fiction. Two of his essays have appeared in Commonweal magazine. For several years he wrote for the Magazine of the Basilica of St Mary in Minneapolis and for Equal Times, a Twin Cities LGBT newspaper. He lived in Palm Springs for seven years
