I currently am an instructor of political science at Central Maine Community College. I have also been a research assistant at Meet The Press, a Fulbright Scholar, a candidate for state representative in New Hampshire, a newspaper columnist and a podcaster.

I am the author of Deacon Blues (2020), The Underdog in American Politics The Democratic Party and Liberal Values (2010), Unlimited Freedom: How Competition, Speed and  Fear Frustrate Reform (2000) and the editor of The New Populist Reader (1997). My short story, Witnessing The Duel in the Sun, is included in Wonderful Golf Stories: Entertaining Stories from Golfwell’s International Story Competition (2018).
