Katherine Spada Basto was a teacher for several years, working with students of all ages. She enjoys mythology, ancient civilizations, history and travel, reading, painting and dancing. She never knew that her own hometown, Hartford, Connecticut had a witch craze, thirty years before Salem. Ms. Spada Basto spent several years researching "Days to the Gallows and brings to life a very turbulent time during Connecticut Colonial History. "Days to the Gallows" based on a true story is Ms. Spada Basto's first novel. "Days to the Gallows" has already garnered two Indie Awards, including Finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards for Historical Fiction and Finalist in National Excellence Indie Awards for Regional Fiction- Northeast. Presently, she is working on her second novel.
