Keith Sobey was born in Wallsend on Tyne and has spent over two thirds of his life living in the North East and the Lake District.

Keith Sobey was born in Wallsend on Tyne and has spent over two thirds of his life living in the North East and the Lake District.
After a highly successful career as a public sector accountant, Keith decided to become an entrepreneur in 2000. He founded and managed The Centaur Group of Companies which went on to become the largest sports betting/ investment/ bloodstock / education company in the UK.
After 12 years of sustained growth, Centaur had an annus horribilis in 2011 and went in to liquidation. Keith moved to Ireland while the liquidation was being settled and while there wrote his autobiography "Stick orTwist" and a debut novel, "Migrants".
