Kenneth Michaels, originally from Detroit, Michigan, graduated from Columbia University with a M.Ed. in Counseling. He worked as a psychiatric counselor in San Francisco and then as co-founder of Encounter Theatre, a psychiatric theatre that used humor and role-playing to involve the audience in resolving personal relationship situations. Variety called it, “First rate psychodrama,” National Endowment for the Arts tagged it a “new art form” and The Los Angeles Weekly news said, “Ken Michaels throws out bon mots like a computer in love with Oscar Wilde.” He wrote and performed his one -man show, The Importance of Being Ernst in Chicago, Il. and toured in What’s Normal? which had a summer run in Berlin, Germany. He currently lives and writes in the Florida Keys.
