Kenyata Senu, a passionate engineer hailing from Detroit, harbored dreams of engineering greatness since the tender age of eleven. The Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program (DAPCEP) played a pivotal role in laying the groundwork for the remarkable career she has since built, a fact she acknowledges with eternal gratitude.

In the narrative of Kenyata's life, envision a young kid from the inner city of Detroit, constantly buzzing with curiosity about the inner workings of things. Even in her formative years, she was engrossed in tearing into VCRs, effortlessly fixing them like child's play. This innate fire became the driving force behind her career, catapulting her into tackling intricate challenges and spearheading projects that garnered widespread attention. Kenyata wasn't just along for the ride; she was at the helm of the innovation train.

As she conquered the engineering realm, Kenyata couldn't turn a blind eye to the glaring lack of representation in the field. Determined to make a difference, she took it upon herself to shake things up and show the next generation that there's a vast, unexplored world beyond what meets the eye. This mission materialized in the form of her debut book, "Issa the Engineer," a reflection of her younger self that she hopes will ignite a spark in the hearts of other aspiring kids.

Now residing in Indianapolis with her husband and two pugs, Kenyata spends her days spreading the gospel of engineering awesomeness as a STEM advocate. Beyond that, she actively shapes her community's landscape through her non-profit initiative, Black Tennis Connect.
