I receive my undergraduate degree from UCLA in 1977, with a Major in Literature and Creative Writing. Many of my created subjects reflect the turmoil of Vietnam era America, and the aftermath psychosis of divided values. As young man of war, I return home less than whole. Nor am I alone in my generation to participate in this conflict, representative o many changing values. At the the early age of 19 years, I returned to my homeland fiel promoted Sergeant destined for a career in the Uninted States Marine Corps. Were it not for the event of a spiritual intersection, my life would have unfolded much differently.
While living in Santa Monica, California, I create my own printing and adverstising agency and engage in many commercial projects, doing my own Ad-copyediting. I subsequently work on some neighborhood play production projects, including adapting a short story I wrote in 1977 titled Silent Night into a live play performance. This story, along with several others, later published in a short story collectiion. I work on a film production called Monster in the Closet with friends and producers Bob Dahlin and Peter Bergquist, also injecting content for some of the script development. I provide the the creative core story idea of a Santa Clause apprentice film, which I share with long time friend Ed Turner. This story already copywrited since in 1978, titled The Toy Maker. This story acquired by Ernest Productions, and later made into a movie with Disney Productions. I had opportunity to work closely with acquaintance Robbie Robertson, who introduced me to two upcoming young actors, Robert De Niro and Gary Busey. I worked on a script at this time titled Doves over the Pyrenees, which the three actors saw themselves as role characters to be played in a future independent movie. Although nothing tangible came from this brief encounter because of unseen events, I retain the unfinished skeleton of this proposed screenplay. Through the years, I have published poems and short stories in various magazines and book consortiums, as well as winning a few poetry awards. My first novel, The Frogs, published in 2000, followed a year later by a short story collection titled Legends from the Mist and Other Told Tales. My next book publication will be in 2014, titled The Eighth Estate. This deeply mystical and religious examination represents a co-authored collaboration with close friend and spiritual partner, Zaharoula Sarakinis. Search of the Perfect Code first published in 2017, and republished in 2022 re-titled Search of the Perfect Code Discovered is a profound testimonial of spiritual revival that further examines religious beliefs and precepts of Biblical meaning, comparing scientific secularism to what the Bible really says. A year later I publish a complete anthology of 300 poems titled Where Water Goes. This volume is at present being revised into three separate books of 300 poems each. In 2019 I publish a classic novel titled Liberty Epic of Shadows. This historical epic fiction spans over 400 years, beginning with the first Spanish Conquistadors to 1960s rural America during the early years of the Vietnam War. It is this author's opinion a must read. I have completely reedited this piece since the publication. It has been recently received critical review by On Line Book Club.org, as well as promoted by Face Book Books and Book Bub. My latest edition first published in 2020 with the title Faces in a Paper Moon is an engaging autobiography. Page Turner Print and Media has presently republishing this book with the revised title Reflections in a Paper Moon, Volume 1, Beginning Passage. As well as being obviously personal, this book is a first-person record of a history beginning in the early 1950s to the latter half of the last century. It is both revealing, as well as reflecting personal challenge during difficult formative years within critical context of a changing society. This spring I plan to have this book presented at the L. A. Times Festival of Books 2022. I am presently working on future volumes of this continuing saga.
