Living in West Papua as a 19-year-old shaped the author's life strikingly. Nearly two decades later, her heart was hurt, softened, and impressed . . . watching her young children struggle to integrate and adapt to three new languages and a new culture, amidst the family's move overseas.
The grown-up Liv Hunziker loves hiking with her husband and kids, tent camping, thinking hard about international relations, and being near coffee. She feels vast gratitude toward her own mom, and still misses the unborn Vita Bergren (lost at nine weeks in utero).
The author served 15 years as an editorial coach for a variety of novels. Liv will forever find ways to stay involved with the community development work of D4D-Nav's, and her writing has appeared in Korean Quarterly and Point Converge magazines.
Together with her husband and two teens, the author lives in Switzerland and the USA.
