Macy Porterfield has struggled with reading and writing her entire life due to having dyslexia, which inspired her to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Bowling Green State University. She is a future educator surrounded by students just like herself who struggle with reading. In response to this, she felt inspired to start writing and illustrating picture books because she saw a need for a book that inspired individuals with dyslexia to trust the process. She also hopes that this book encourages teachers as well as parents to support the success of their student's disabilities no what how hard the journey may be.
